About The Role

EGGER Timberpak is looking for a reliable and safety‑focused HGV Driver / Operator to join our team in Bellshill. This is a hands‑on role combining professional driving with operational support on site, helping to ensure efficient collection, transport and handling of timber materials. You will play a key role in maintaining high safety standards, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting site operations.

Starting salary: £35,426 per annum (16.03/hr) – working 42.5 hrs per week, including paid breaks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate HGV vehicles including walking floor trailer and hook loader cover.
  • Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report defects promptly.
  • Ensure loads are safe, secure and compliant before transport.
  • Follow all road safety, tachograph and transport regulations.
  • Deliver and collect materials from customer sites safely and professionally.
  • Maintain clear communication with customers, ensuring awareness of terms and conditions.
  • Adhere to customer site rules and maintain excellent service standards.
  • Report all incidents, hazards or near misses promptly.
  • Support site operations and maintain a clean, tidy working environment.
  • Complete required documentation including defect sheets and tachograph records.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of assigned vehicles.
  • Participate in training to operate Timberpak machinery and equipment.

What We’re Looking For

  • H.G.V. licence (class one) is essential, with a minimum of one years experience.
  • Valid driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety.
  • Walking floor experience required.
  • Good awareness of vehicle safety, load security and driving regulations.
  • Customer‑focused with a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible and reliable with a hands‑on approach.
  • Recognised certificate holder for mobile plant (advantageous but not essential).
