Your Tasks

  • Operate as a member of the Quality Station team, ensuring that the Quality Station and Weighbridge office area is maintained in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Oversee all incoming wood based materials at the Hexham site to ensure that they meet the agreed Company Quality standard and laid down purchasing specifications.
  • Where necessary, operate the computerised weighbridge system (SAP) with regard to the receipt of wood fibre raw materials in accordance with the procedures set out in the Dry Fibre System.
  • Assist with on-site security control measures and ensure emergency procedures and actions are maintained.
  • Be professional and courteous to all visitors and follow the checking in procedure with due care and attention with each visitor.
  • Maintain an orderly system for the function.
  • Participate in the compilation of detailed weekly, monthly and annual facts and figures as required with regard to moisture content, sieve analysis, bench testing etc. on behalf of the Wood Purchasing Department.
  • Liaise with other departments at all levels, and communicate Quality issues to wood purchasing managers and suppliers.
  • Observe and comply with company quality standards as laid out in the Quality Manual.
  • Be aware of, and comply with the safety precautions as detailed in the Health and Safety procedures and ensure that safety equipment is in good order and used when necessary.
  • Ensure that the operation and related tasks are conducted in a safe working manner and that any incidents/accidents and hazards are duly reported.
  • Demonstrate professional competence and development by keeping skills up to date, and attend any training courses deemed necessary.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties and tasks as commensurate with the position as agreed with the Log Yard and Quality Station Controller.
