We are an internationally renowned company based in Cressier, near Neuchâtel, in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. We design, develop, and manufacture centrifugal pumps and diaphragm control valves to meet the most demanding requirements, and supply them to the industrial, chemical and wastewater sectors. To strengthen our Special Applications & Back Office team, we are looking for an Area Application Engineer.

The Area Application Engineer is responsible for analyzing customer requirements, sizing and selecting pumping solutions, and providing technical support to the sales team. The role ensures that proposed solutions meet technical, commercial, and regulatory requirements while contributing to market analysis and business development activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze customer specifications and operating conditions (flow, head, fluid characteristics, design constraints)
  • Select and size pumping solutions, including pump type, materials, sealing systems, and motor requirements
  • Prepare technical proposals, datasheets, and costing sheets, and support customer technical clarifications
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to develop competitive solutions
  • Conduct market, process, and competitor analyses and recommend technical and commercial improvements
  • Maintain technical documentation, calculations, manuals, and project records
Profile and skills:
  • Bachelor's or Masters Engineering degree in Mechanical, Hydraulic, or Process Engineering
  • 2–5 years of experience in a similar technical role
  • Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, pump selection, hydraulic calculations, NPSH, and cavitation
  • Familiarity with ISO 5199, API 610, and ATEX standards
  • English Professional proficiency (required), French and German are real advantages
  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP/CRM systems, and pump selection software a plus
  • Experience in chemical, water, or oil & gas industries is an asset
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving
