As a Homelessness Support Worker at EGG, you will provide individualised, one-to-one support to people who have experienced homelessness.

You’ll help clients navigate the challenges of rebuilding their lives, offering practical assistance, emotional support, and access to opportunities that promote independence and long-term stability.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusting relationships with clients through consistent, empathetic support.
  • Encourage active participation in their own recovery and development journey.
  • Facilitate access to opportunities that promote personal growth and independence.
  • Conduct safeguarding, risk, needs, and holistic assessments.
  • Develop person-centred support plans tailored to individual goals and circumstances.
  • Manage a caseload of clients with complex needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of client details, interactions, case notes, and progress.
  • Assist clients with job searching, CV and cover letters, interview preparation, and navigating job sites.
  • Support clients in finding employment and transitioning into the workplace.
  • Provide guidance on housing options and referral pathways to accommodation services.
  • Assist with housing searches and applications.
  • Support clients with budgeting, bill payments, and applications for education, training, or volunteering.
  • Promote independence through practical life skills coaching.
  • Advise clients on their rights and entitlements.
  • Liaise with external agencies and guide to relevant services (e. g., mental health, substance misuse).
  • Maintain relationships with employers and community partners.
  • Conduct outreach activities and promote EGG’s services within the community.
