The Governors and Senior Leadership Team at Egerton Community Primary School are seeking to appoint a Site Manager on a permanent basis. The successful candidate should be able to carry out routine maintenance, basic repairs and monitor major works as and when required in the school holidays. Managing the work of contractors on site and monitoring services that are provided externally such as cleaning and grounds maintenance is also required.

The person appointed should have knowledge and skills relating to building maintenance and health and safety. The key skills which we are looking for are the skills to carry out repairs and minor building works. Experience or knowledge of statutory duties and paperwork is desirable; however, this is not essential and training will be provided. Commitment and attention to detail is required in order to maintain high standards in our busy school.

The successful candidate will need to show initiative and take pride in their work and be flexible. They will also be responsible for ensuring that all school facilities are in excellent and safe condition. The role includes elements of manual work, for example clearing snow, gritting etc and therefore a good level of fitness is essential. Applicants will need to be an effective team member as well as work on their own initiative. They will need to be self‑motivated, co‑operative and have a pleasant manner. Positive and supportive relationships with staff and children will help make this post rewarding and enjoyable.

This post is 20 hours a week, term time only plus 15 days. Leave to be taken in school holidays. Working hours to be discussed at interview. Start date: 1st July 2026 or to be agreed. Closing date: Tuesday 2nd June 2026. Shortlisting: Wednesday 3rd June 2026. Interview Date: Friday 5th June 2026.
