Role: Cyber Security Manager Location: Blackburn, BB1 2FA – Office Based Contract: Full-Time Hours / Permanent Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 Company: EG Group About the Role… We have an exciting new vacancy for a Cyber Security Manager to join our IT department at EG Group! As a vital member of our leadership team, the Cyber Security Manager plays a pivotal role in safeguarding our organization’s digital assets and infrastructure. This position is ideal for a dynamic and experienced professional who excels in team management and has a profound understanding of cybersecurity threats and solutions. Reporting directly into the Group Infrastructure & Security Manager, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading a team of cyber security engineers, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and implementing robust security measures. Duties & Responsibilities Manage and lead a team of cyber security engineers. Work closely with cyber personnel in other countries. Oversee the Security Operations Centre (SOC) function. Adhere to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Plan, implement, and oversee cyber security changes in a structured manner. Oversee security incident management and resolution processes. Maintain and update documentation of security incident playbooks, common practices, process flow diagrams, and the knowledge base. Manage workloads and projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Implement and maintain industry standard cyber security controls, testing and evidencing the effectiveness of the controls on a regular basis. This list is not exhaustive and may be added to or amended from time to time Candidate Requirements Strong leadership and team management skills with a minimum of 2+ years in management. Understanding of emerging cyber requirements and cyber security threats. Broad and comprehensive technical knowledge of IT infrastructure and technologies (with OT knowledge being an additional benefit). Experience working in an IT function and relevant field. Proven experience in the management and delivery of key cyber security projects. Experience managing and reporting project deliverables to senior management audiences. Proficiency in using, building, and maintaining an EDR/XDR solution (e.g., Microsoft Defender, Tanium). Proficiency in using, building, and maintaining a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) environment (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk). Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent communication and reporting skills.
