In this strategic leadership role, you will be responsible for leading the transformation of our Procurement Function into a dynamic and innovative force that drives efficiency, cost effectiveness and sustainability throughout our business. The Procurement department is crucial in offering expert advice, strategic direction, and operational procurement support. It ensures compliance with best practices and regulations, minimizes risk, and acts as a value-driven partner that comprehends and meets the business’s needs.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for building strong relationships across the business to effectively influence category strategies that align with broader business goals. Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a leading procurement strategy aligned with organisational goals.
- Ensure compliance with best practices and GSCOP directives.
- Monitor / manage the procurement budget & identify cost-saving opportunities by adapting procurement strategies based on market trends.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in sourcing and supplier landscapes, and implement innovative solutions such as automation, blockchain, and data analytics to optimize procurement processes and enhance supplier relationships.
- Develop strategic partnerships with suppliers to encourage innovation, quality improvement, and cost reduction.
- Promote sustainable sourcing and ethical supply chains by Integrating environmental and social considerations into procurement decisions.
- Identify and mitigate procurement risks ensuring supply chain resilience by assessing supplier financial stability and managing geopolitical and third-party risks.
- Lead negotiations to secure favorable contracts & oversee contract management to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Candidate Requirements
- CIPS / CPSM / CSCP Qualified – Essential
- 10+ years’ experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role – Essential
- PMP (Project Management Professional) qualification – Desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field – Desirable
- Proven track record of designing, developing and leading a procurement function in a large organisation
- An ability to build a strategic ‘vision’ and strong influencing skills to enable organisational buy-in and implementation
- Ability to drive innovation and leverage technology to enhance procurement operations
- Experience in sustainable procurement practices and knowledge of relevant industry standards and certifications i.e. GSCOP
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
- Contract and supplier relationship management skills and experience of leading complex supplier negotiations across a broad range of categories in both direct and indirect spaces
- Comprehensive knowledge of procurement concepts, processes and techniques including supply chain management, Total Cost Modelling, supplier performance metrics, risk management and supplier relationships
- Proven strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
