Location: The County Ground, with the abilities to travel to other training facilities

Reports to: Academy Head of Coach Development & Academy Head of Player Development

Placement (various lengths based on course)

Overall purpose of the job: Observe and gain experience in an Academy coaching department

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Personal Development
    • Undertake self-development to ensure knowledge in relation to all aspects of your role is up-to-date and forward-thinking:
    • Complete FA CPD as required to keep your FAN/Licence up to date
    • Complete club CPD and qualifications as part of your ongoing development action plan
  • Coaching Curriculum, Playing and Coaching Philosophy
    • Gain an understanding of the Academy's coaching curriculum, playing and coaching philosophy.
    • Training session observation (planning, delivery and feedback)
    • Provide support with session preparation
  • Games Programme
    • Fixture observation (planning, delivery and feedback)
    • Provide support with fixture preparation
  • Individual Learning Plan Design and Delivery
    • Gain an understanding of the Academy’s practice design methodology that allows players to practice their IDP’s
  • Feedback
    • Provide regular updates to the cell lead/phase lead to support the review process
  • Such other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post and to assist the Academy Director.

About The Candidate

Qualifications

  • Currently studying a coaching or sports degree
  • UEFA C Coaching Licence (D)
  • Safeguarding and Protecting Children (D)

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in one or more of the following roles:
  • Football coaching (grassroots/school)
  • Knowledge and/or experience of at least 1 of the following:
  • Currently studying a coaching or sports degree
  • Have ICT experience of FIP, excel, word and any other software as required in order to carry out the duties required for the job.
