Fixed Term Contract: 12 hours per week (Salary: Hourly Rate £30 per hour)
Overall purpose of the job: Offer inspirational education opportunities that support high achievement in the classroom, whilst developing well-rounded individuals striving to be the best they can be. The role of the tutor is to work within the scholarship programme with the education team delivering on our BTEC Level 3 Nationals in Sporting Excellence and Performance and our Hybrid day release programme for our GCSE learners. The post holder will work with internal and external (LFE) partner standards and procedures in line with their teaching, learning and assessment processes. You will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check to work at Swindon Town FC.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Education Delivery
- Teaching, Learning and Assessment of L3 BTEC in Sporting Excellence & Performance
- Prepare materials and deliver the BTEC and GCSE programme across a range of courses and levels.
- Marking learner work, recording and maintaining records.
- Communicate effectively with apprentices and schoolboys to enable them to understand and participate in learning activities.
- Use appropriate support strategies for working with groups and/or with individual learners to maximise learning opportunities.
- Be punctual at all times, with an engaging and positive attitude and approach.
- Set high standards at all times in line with the clubs' values and principles.
- Complete all work in a timely manner.
- Be aware of and implement Health and safety policy, emergency procedures and child protection policies.
- Work with education partners (LFE, EFL).
- Support learners to make best use of provision by encouraging them to meet course and/or organisational requirements in terms of, for example, punctuality, attendance and behaviour.
- Utilise ALS staff to enhance learning experience.
- Feedback
- Contribute towards the progress review process by completing and uploading onto LFE’s EMS system by the deadline date agreed with the relevant LFE Regional Officer.
- Maintain registers, materials and equipment.
- Attend meetings with parents, coaches and players where appropriate.
- Such other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post and to assist the Academy Head of Education.

Experience
- Minimum experience in the following roles:
- Experience of delivering GCSE (year 10-11) and post 16 education programmes.
- Experience of planning, managing delivery and marking.
- Experience of lesson planning and delivery to a timeframe.
- Commitment and understanding safeguarding and child protection.
- Willingness to undertake CPD and continue personal development.
- ICT experience of using Office 365 apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Forms.
