Sheffield United Women's Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) is seeking an experienced and organised coach with strong communication skills to play a key role in developing the next generation of female players. This position sits at the heart of our player pathway, supporting talented young footballers as they progress towards the Academy and senior levels. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality coaching sessions aligned with the Club's Game Model and 'The Blades Way', fostering a positive, challenging, and high-performance environment that enables every player to reach their full potential.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver training sessions at the Emerging Talent Centre and attend all games and festivals, or CPD/In service events where required by the Club.
- Deliver the Clubs Game Model, in conjunction with the coaching framework.
- As and when required, deliver in-service events for other coaches/players at the Centre or Grassroots Clubs as part of their regular training hours.
- Work with the Youth Pathway Lead to make decisions on ETC players who are on rolling 10-week blocks and players that are transitioning into the academy.
- Implement and maintain Club appropriate standards, practices and procedures, referred to as 'The Blades Way', for the safe and effective operation of the ETC Squad.
- Creating a high-performance environment and values-based culture that maximises the potential of players and staff.
- Lead on the footballing IDP for all ETC players in your age group, delivering them to players/parents in line with the ETC programme.
- Work with the Academy medical team in relation to the fitness and medical treatment of all players in the ETC age group.
- Work with the Academy S&C team in relation to all sports science and physical performance matters relating to the ETC age group.
- Work with the Academy Player Support team (Safeguarding, Player Care, Education and Psychology) in relation to all relevant Player Care, Wellbeing and Safeguarding matters relating to the ETC age group.
Club Wide Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all Sheffield United Football Club's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an environment which protects from harm those defined as children and adults at risk.
- Report any concerns of a Safeguarding nature to the relevant parties and remain fully compliant with any applicable Safeguarding checks and due diligence and recognise your responsibility to the Club's Safeguarding agenda.
- Report any concerns of discrimination to the relevant parties and promote a welcoming and inclusive club environment for all.
- Adhere to the Club's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies, supporting the Club to create an environment which is inclusive and all-encompassing.
- Carry out and actively participate in all training requests as directed by the Club, including mandatory health and safety training, emergency procedures, fire safety, manual handling, safeguarding, and role-specific safety instruction.
Essential Criteria for the Role:
- UEFA C or above coaching qualification.
- Experience of coaching young players/youth development.
- Experience in the development of an age specific staffing structure.
- FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football (iFAiF) or Emergency First Aid.
- FA Safeguarding Children Course.
- This role requires completion of an enhanced DBS Check upon offer acceptance.
- Organisational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents/guardians, players of all age ranges, and coaches across all phases.
