About The Role
Purpose of the post: Responsible for implementing the Academy coaching programme and developing players technically, tactically, physically in the Professional Development Phase (U18) age group.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop an elite environment for the progression and development of young professional players, promoting the Club's philosophy, vision and culture at all times.
- Plan, prepare and deliver coaching sessions in the Professional Development Phase in tandem with the Club philosophy and coaching syllabus.
- Manage and maintain Kit Man Labs for the U18s age group from training sessions, fixtures and player reviews.
- Organise Academy players' logistics for all training sessions, fixtures, tournaments and Academy events.
- Attend all in-service and coaching days as directed by the First-Team Manager, Head of Academy Business Performance or Head of Academy Coaching.
- Monitor and report on the achievement of performance targets and progress of the professional development programme.
- Manage the transition of players from the Youth Development Phase to Professional Development Phase.
- Take an active part in ensuring that all aspects of player's lives are in accordance to club education and welfare policies.
- Attend all Academy team meetings, where required.
- Play a key role in recruitment for players to be taken on for a scholarship at the Club.
- Construct and deliver detailed 12 week reviews for individual player progression.
- Multi-disciplinary communication between staff, players, parents and guardians to ensure optimal well-being and development of all U18 players.
- Maintain honesty and integrity at all times when representing the Club.
- Undertake all reasonable tasks assigned by the First-Team Manager, Head of Academy or Head of Academy Coaching.
Club Doncaster Responsibilities
- Champion safeguarding within the U18s and wider Academy.
- Maintain UEFA Qualifications and Emergency First Aid.
- Ensure all safeguarding standards are met and maintained, ensuring all concerns are logged on MyConcern.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Promote the brand identity and increase Club Doncaster fan base through positive service delivery.
- Support the whole of Club Doncaster group to promote the events and the business as a whole, including additional support at Club Doncaster events such as the Big Bang and Festival of Sport weekend.
- Act at all times with utmost good faith to the Club(s) and the Company.
- Devote full attention and ability to fulfilment of the duties required by the role.
- Work closely with, maintain good relationships, and collaborative working practices.
- Work with colleagues throughout Club Doncaster to extend knowledge and skills in order to identify and develop best practice.
- Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job.
- Maintain the quality of service provision, regularly evaluating work and seeking to make improvements.
- Present a professional image when dealing with both internal and external contacts and partners, acting in a professional manner at all times.
- Cover as and when required at other departments within the Club Doncaster Group.
