The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Coordinator will play a pivotal role in strengthening connections between Preston North End Community and Education Trust, Preston North End Football Club, supporters, and local communities.

Employed by Preston North End Community and Education Trust and funded through the Premier League Fans Fund, the postholder will lead the delivery of a two-year community engagement project focused on increased participation from underrepresented communities, improving inclusive matchday experiences and ensuring football is accessible, welcoming and representative of the communities it serves.

Working across both the Trust and Football Club, the postholder will build meaningful relationships with community organisations, supporter groups, and strategic partners, whilst leading the FAN Advisory Network (FAN) and creating opportunities for supporter voice to influence future activity. The role will also work closely with Preston North End Football Club to support the delivery of EDI initiatives, campaigns and inclusive matchday experiences that strengthen relationships between the Club and its supporters.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating project delivery, developing partnerships, monitoring impact, and ensuring delivery meets the objectives of the Premier League Fans Fund. They will champion inclusive practice across the Trust, whilst supporting the Football Club to create a welcoming and accessible environment where everyone feels they belong.

Location: Preston North End Community and Education Trust, Deepdale Stadium, Preston, PR1 6RU, with delivery across Preston, South Ribble, and Ribble Valley.

Contract: Full-time fixed term two year contract, (37.5 hours per week) - including evenings, weekends and matchdays as required.

Salary: Starting from £26,000 to £29,000 depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of the Premier League Fans Fund project and achieve all contractual objectives and outcomes.
  • Lead officer for the internal working group on equity, diversity, and inclusion at Preston North End Football Club.
  • Collaborate with the Football Club to implement the six essential standards of the EFL's EDI code of practice.
  • Support the Board Equity Champion with all ED&I related matters.
  • Promote Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion across the workforce and supporter base through best practice, programmes, and initiatives.
  • Build meaningful relationships with underrepresented communities, supporter groups, and strategic partners.
  • Lead the Fan Advisory network, ensuring supporter voice influences project delivery and future development.
  • Support Preston North End Football Club in delivering inclusive matchday initiatives, campaigns, and EDI priorities.
  • Champion equity, diversity and inclusion across Preston North End Community and Education Trust whilst supporting the Club's wider EDI ambitions.
  • Monitor project performance and produce high quality reports that demonstrate impact and inform future delivery.
  • Support the implementation of Club ED&I policies and procedures.

Key Relationships:

  • Reports directly to the Head of Community Engagement.
  • Works collaboratively with departments across Preston North End Community and Education Trust.
  • Works closely with Preston North End Supporter Club departments including supporter services, ticket office, marketing, stadium operations and the Club's ED&I working group.
  • Develops partnerships with community organisations, faith groups, disability organisations, supporter groups, local authorities and voluntary, community, faith, social enterprise (VCFSE) partners.
  • Represents Preston North End Community and Education Trust and Preston North End Football Club at local, regional, and national partnership meetings.

Working Arrangements:

  • Full time, fixed term position funded through the Premier League Fans Fund.
  • Based at Preston North End Football Club with regular community engagement across Preston and Lancashire.
  • Frequent attendance at Preston North End home fixtures, together with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, will be required to support community engagement, themed campaigns and matchday activity.
  • This role includes a commitment to working the majority of Preston North End home fixtures during the football season, supporting the delivery of inclusive matchday activities themed campaigns and fan engagement initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with community organisations, VCFSE partners and underrepresented communities across Preston and Lancashire.
  • Develop initiatives that reduce barriers to participation and improve engagement with Preston North End Community and Education Trust and Preston North End Football Club.
  • Coordinate community engagement sessions, events, and progression opportunities into wider Trust provision.
  • Represent Preston North End Community and Education Trust and the Football Club at community forums, partnership meetings, and networking events.
  • Fan Engagement and Matchday Experience: Lead and coordinate the Fan Advisory Network, ensuring supporter voice shapes project delivery and future developments.
  • Plan and deliver inclusive matchday initiatives, themed campaigns, and supporter engagement activities throughout the football season.
  • Work collaboratively with Football Club departments to improve accessibility, inclusion, and the overall supporter experience.
  • Gather participant and supporter feedback to inform continuous improvement.
  • Equity, Diversity and Inclusion: Lead the implementation of the Trust and Club EDI Action Plan.
  • Champion inclusive practice across the Trust and support the Football Club's wider Equity, Diversity and Inclusion objectives.
  • Coordinate Equity, Diversity and Inclusion campaigns, awareness activity and staff development opportunities.
  • Promote equity, accessibility and inclusion across all programmes, services and activities.
  • Partnership Development: Develop and maintain productive relationships with strategic partners that strengthen project delivery and community impact.
  • Work collaboratively with statutory agencies, community organisations and Preston North End Football Club to maximise opportunities for engagement.
  • Support the recruitment and development of volunteers, ambassadors and community champions.
  • Project Management, Monitoring and Reporting: Coordinate the day to day delivery of the Premier League Fans Fund project, ensuring activities are delivered safely, effectively and on time.
  • Monitor performance against contractual targets, maintain accurate records using Salesforce and other organisational systems, and ensure all reporting deadlines are achieved.
  • Produce reports, case studies, impact summaries and funding returns that demonstrate project outcomes and inform future development.
  • Safeguarding and Compliance: Ensure all activities are delivered in accordance with safeguarding policies, risk assessments, organisational procedures and Premier League Foundation requirements.
  • Promote a culture of safeguarding, inclusion, quality assurance and continuous improvement across all project activity.
  • General Responsibilities: Promote Preston North End Community and Education Trust and Preston North End Football Club professionally at all times.
  • Work flexibly to support community events, campaigns, home matchdays and activities across the organisation.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as requested by the Head of Community Engagement.

About The Candidate:

Qualifications - Essential:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Community Development, Sport Development, Youth Work, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion or a related discipline.
  • Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle for business use.

Qualifications - Desirable:

  • Equity, Diversity and Inclusion qualification or equivalent professional development.
  • Safeguarding and First Aid qualifications.
  • Project Management qualification.

Skills and Experience - Essential:

  • Experience of delivering community engagement, inclusion or outreach programmes.
  • Experience of building effective partnerships with community organisations and stakeholders.
  • Experience of working with underrepresented communities and improving participation.
  • Experience of planning and delivering projects, campaigns, or community events.
  • Experience of monitoring performance, evaluating impact, and producing reports.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship building skills including experience of using Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across a range of teams and organisations.
  • Experience of supporting volunteers or community stakeholders.
