An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Commercial team at Portsmouth Football Club as a Non Match Day Sales Executive, covering maternity leave on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
The Non-Match Day Sales Executive's role focuses on maximising the club’s non-match day conferencing and events revenue, by developing existing relationships and identifying new opportunities across Portsmouth and the surrounding region, and nationally where appropriate.
- Maximise revenue and profitability from the club's non-match day meetings, conferencing and events.
- Identify new business and develop existing relationships across Portsmouth, the surrounding region and, where appropriate, nationally.
- Implement, process and develop competitive, profitable non-match day packages.
- Ensure client information is collated and stored accurately in the Club's database systems, using feedback to continually improve service for current and future clients.
We are looking for a team-player who has a customer-focused and outcome-led approach, with a minimum of one year's experience within conferencing, events and venue sales.
The successful candidate will be a proactive individual who values client relationships as well as new business acquisition.
Excellent written and verbal skills, are a must for this role.
This role also requires someone who is flexible and willing to work irregular working patterns in response to operational and client needs, and who is available to commit to a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales and Business Development
- Pro-actively deal with existing bookings, enquiries, take payments where appropriate and complete day-to-day administration to ensure all inbound enquiries are fulfilled in a timely manner.
- Work with the wider Commercial Team to build a strategy for identifying, prospecting, and engaging with Portsmouth Football Club's existing clients, including but not limited to Partners and Sponsors, as well as developing new business contacts within the Portsmouth and surrounding region and nationally where appropriate.
- Work with key stakeholders to build a non-match day programme that is competitive, innovative and builds the Pompey and Fratton Park destination brands.
- Identify and conduct venue show rounds with prospective clients to increase awareness of non match day programmes and complement existing opportunities.
- Pro-actively build a network, whether through outbound calling or other outlets, to support the growth of non-match day revenue.
- Manage all enquiries and prospects through 'i Vvy', our internal software programme, keeping all data up to date and communicating on a regular basis to maximise and grow opportunities.
- Collaborate with the in-house catering, commercial, and marketing teams to identify new trends and build campaigns to attract new business.
- Meet and exceed key performance indicators and targets.
- Negotiate agreements that deliver high revenue growth, brand awareness and long-term value for both the client and Portsmouth Football Club.
- Gain an in-depth understanding of each client's business, while identifying future opportunities to expand their relationship with Portsmouth Football Club.
