Role Summary

This role supports our academy matchday by helping ensure smooth, safe and well-organised operations across all our venues in and around the city. This role is to enhance the match-day experience for home and away team players, staff, parents, and match officials. You will be part of a hardworking team that takes care of the spaces where memories are made — helping to ensure every corner of the club meets the highest standards. This isn’t just coordination and support— it is being part of the team that keeps Pompey ticking.

About The Candidate

Your Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with matchday setup, welcome and direct all visitors, and facilitate refreshments while liaising with academy staff as required.
  • Support and guide home and away players, staff, parents and match officials to the correct areas of the venue.
  • Coordinate orderly parking for coaches and cars on matchdays.
  • Maintain changing rooms and manage matchday pitch equipment, including goals and corner flags, alongside general administrative support.
  • Support and manage visiting scouts throughout the matchday.
  • Pay match officials after the game and liaise with the administrator to ensure safe collection and return of money and paperwork.
  • Ensure the site is fully vacated, clean, tidy and secure at the end of each matchday session.
  • Enforce and promote FA and Premier League Academy Rules at all times.

Guidance to Consider

The role is based at various match venues in and around Portsmouth; a full driving licence and regular access to a vehicle are essential. Right to work in the UK must be held prior to applying. All DBS and Club Employment checks must be successfully completed. FA Safeguarding training must be completed before starting the role.
