About The Role

Oldham Athletic is looking to recruit a Digital Media & Design Executive to play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the club's visual presence whilst aiding the wider content output across both digital and physical mediums.

This role plays a crucial role in the club's continued growth, on and off the pitch whilst reporting the Head of Media & Communications. The successful candidate will produce engage, high-quality visual materials in order to support the club's media, marketing, commercial, retail and event activities.

This is a full-time permanent position, where hours can include evenings and weekends in line with the club's footballing calendar. Oldham Athletic is looking for a designer with at least 2-3 years of experience, who can own and represent the visual direction of the club.

The role will ensure consistency and quality through all visual collateral while strengthening the club's identity to connect with supporters, sponsors and stakeholders.

Position: Permanent (Full-Time)

Hours:37.5 hours per week (including matchdays)

Location: Boundary Park

Salary:Up to £30,000

Closing: Friday 4 September 2026, 5pm

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work within the media, communications and marketing team and in collaboration with all other departments, in order to produce high-quality creative materials for web, social media, print, signage and all other mediums.
  • Conceptualise, plan, develop, to brief, creative assets for regular club events and marketing to deliver impactful and meaningful campaigns to support the club's non-matchday activations.
  • Play a prominent role in the delivery of the club's marketing campaigns, matchday identity and digital advertising.
  • Lead on the delivery of creative marketing materials for the club's commercial arms, including events, commercial partnerships, retail, gym and football and education programmes.
  • Develop engaging creative assets and campaigns across digital, print and physical environments to support commercial objectives, audience engagement and revenue-generating activity.
  • Supporting the media, communications and marketing team in developing the official club website and app, taking ownership of agreed roles within this area.
  • Collaborate with all departments across the club to support their digital and design requirements on a regular and ad-hoc basis.
  • Effectively manage an image library for the club's retail offering while developing the customer journey and experience through impactful artwork.
  • Manage and create effective marketing materials for Glo Gym through seasonal campaigns and content management for online and in-person advertising.
  • Support the creation and approval of motion-based artwork for the stadium's LED and screen displays.
  • Support the club's wider media output through the creation and editing of video content for both football and commercial activity.
  • Assist the pre-existing artwork for SportsTown Oldham with the production of stakeholder-led presentations, education marketing and expanding on current visual identity.
  • Maintain a consistent and recognisable visual presence across all club communications and touchpoints, ensuring creative output adheres to existing brand guidelines while contributing to the continued development of the club's visual identity.
  • Maintain a high standard of creativity and attention to detail while developing the club and its associated businesses' visual identities.
  • Contribute to the long-term creative direction of Oldham Athletic and its associated businesses, identifying opportunities to strengthen the club's visual presence, improve the quality and consistency of its creative output, and establish a clear and cohesive design approach across all areas of the organisation.

About The Candidate

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Educated to an undergraduate degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Excellence knowledge of industry standard software, including the full Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects and Premiere Pro.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while delivering projects to brief and manage ad-hoc request effectively.
  • Ability to work first-team matchdays (including evening, weekends) to assist with pre- and post-match activities in addition to club events outside of standard working hours.
  • An understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and safeguarding principles.
    Desired Skills and Experience
  • Camera operation and video editing skills.
  • Previous experience of working within a football environment.
  • Experience within graphic design and content creation, with a knowledge or driven aim to learn industry standard software.
  • Strong copywriting and proofreading skills.
  • Full UK driving licence or the ability to travel to various locations that may be required.
  • Experience using content management systems, especially Urban Zoo's Gamechanger and Squarespace.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
