Main Role: To assist and support the Head Of Emerging Talent in the identification and assessment of football players for the academy pathway.
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the Head Of Emerging Talent to identify appropriate players across academy age groups.
- Attend matches allocated by the Head Of Emerging Talent and provide player feedback through the club’s internal recruitment platform.
- Build and maintain a dynamic list of identified players in line with academy targets.
- Watch a range of grassroots and academy football to assess player ability and identify potential academy-standard players.
- Attend tournaments and festivals throughout the off-season to support continued recruitment.
- Contribute positively to the ongoing development of the Recruitment Department.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary academy team to support the development of young players.
- Attend Academy & Club CPD sessions as required to maintain knowledge of levels and profiles required.
About The Candidate:
Qualifications & Experience:
- FA Level 1 Talent ID – Essential
- FA Level 2 Talent ID – Desirable / Working Towards
- Previous experience within football scouting or recruitment – Desirable
- Good understanding of scouting protocols and recruitment processes – Essential
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to following all club safeguarding and operational procedures

- Confident communicator with the ability to build rapport with team Managers and families
- Enthusiastic, motivated and ambitious individual

A full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle is essential. Applicants must also hold a valid FA Safeguarding Children Certificate. Due to this role involving regulated activity, successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.
