- Provide emergency pitch-side cover for training and games
- Carry out pitch-side assessments and deliver acute treatment to injured players
- Work with Academy medical staff to give all players a high standard of care
- Go with players to hospital in emergencies and help with their medical management
- Give full-time Academy Physiotherapists prompt reports after training and fixtures
- Keep coaches, parents and players updated on players' medical status
- Help teach players about injury prevention, injury management and recovery, in line with the department's philosophy
- Keep medical notes to a legally binding standard
- Build a sound working knowledge of children's safeguarding regulations, including legislation and governing body rules
- Do your own CPD as the role requires
- Take part in the appraisal process
- Follow all company policies, procedures and regulations, including those on health, safety and security
- Carry out any other duties that come up and fall within the scope of the role
About The Candidate
Qualifications
Essential:
- Advanced DBS Check
- Current FA Safeguarding Certificate
- BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy or Sports Rehabilitation
- Current CSP/HCPC membership or relevant sports therapy membership
- FA Level 4 ITMMIF
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
- Able to assess injuries
- Experience of planning and delivering treatment and rehabilitation for sports injuries
- Interest in paediatrics
- Good understanding of growth and maturation and how they affect athlete development
- Experience of working in a team
- Very strong IT skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent numeracy and literacy
Desirable:
- Experience of working with elite youth athletes and treating sports injuries
- Experience of working in a professional football club
