Reporting to the Head of Medical, this role will contribute to the evolution of our First Team support environment — delivering high-quality physiotherapy services, and working with coaches and performance support staff to individualise and integrate with the wider programme.

You will lead on pathology management of available players, with a particular focus on complex presentations including tendinopathies and chronic load-related conditions. You should demonstrate integrated applied knowledge across the performance development process, providing data-informed analysis and insight, and working closely with coaches and the wider multidisciplinary team to optimise player availability.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a professional sporting environment with elite athletes
  • Excellent ability to demonstrate logical and evidence-based clinical reasoning skills
  • Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal injuries, rehabilitation techniques, and injury prevention strategies
  • Sound knowledge and ability to profile/screen elite athletes, including use of VALD equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Competent IT Skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays, to support training sessions and matches
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Self-motivated, open-minded, with an excellent work ethic
