FOUNDATION PHASE LEAD COACH (U9-U10)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within Middlesbrough Football Club’s Category 1 Academy as the Lead Coach for the U9-U10 age group within the Foundation Phase.
The main purpose of the role is to develop elite players across the U9-U10 player development pathway and prepare them technically, tactically physically, psychologically and socially to an appropriate level for their age and stage of development within the Club’s elite coaching programme.
You will be responsible for delivering sessions, which always reflect the Club’s coaching philosophy and cater for team and individual needs.
THE ROLE
- Work closely with the Academy Head of Coaching, Lead Coaches and Part Time Coaches in the development and implementation of the Middlesbrough playing philosophy through the coaching and games programme.
- Plan, deliver and review a variety of coaching sessions to both individuals and groups, supporting players in the creation of individual learning plans and using these to influence practice design and delivery.
- Ensure all aspects of player development are recorded on the PMA (Performance Management Application) within 1 week of delivery.
- Work with the multi-disciplinary team to determine individual and team requirements and lead meetings on the progress of players, including player reviews and retain/release.
- Deliver feedback on overall player performance at parents’ evenings.
- Attendance at Academy training and games (evenings and weekends) as required.
- Maintain and comply with current regulations and protocols relating to Safeguarding.
- About The Candidate
CANDIDATES SHOULD
- Have experience of coaching youth players, preferably in a professional football club environment.
- Have experience of working with Intelligence Platform and Hudl.
- Demonstrate knowledge of an elite coaching programme.
- Demonstrate knowledge of child and adolescent brain development.
- Demonstrate knowledge of good safeguarding protocols.
- Hold a UEFA B Licence (Level 3) and age-appropriate FA Certification (Modules 1, 2, 3).
- Hold the FA Advanced Youth Award or show a willingness to complete within a desired time frame.
- Be dedicated to self-improvement and personal development.
- Demonstrate excellent people management skills.
- Be able to develop and maintain strong working relationships with other departments to support delivery of operational excellence and football success.
- Demonstrate good decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Have a flexible approach to working hours and be prepared to work evenings and weekends.
- Be eligible to work in the UK.
