Location: Cheltenham Town FC Training Ground, Cheltenham, GL51 9RX

Working Hours: 12hr contract

Working Pattern: Monday – 5-7pm; Tuesday – 5:30-8pm; Friday – 5:30-8:30pm; Sunday – Home/Away Fixtures (Home 9:30am-1:30pm).

Additional travel for away fixtures paid at casual rate.

Work base: Cheltenham Town FC Training Ground, Cheltenham, GL51 9RX / All Saints Academy, GL51 0WH / Evesham UTD FC, WR11 2LZ / University of Gloucestershire, GL2 9HW

Required Travel: Regular travel to fixtures, meetings and other events in conjunction with the performance of the duties detailed below.

Overall Purpose of the Job

The successful individual will be responsible for working with predominantly Foundation Phase teams however provide support to Youth Phase as necessary, providing pitch-side first aid/trauma management during academy training and fixtures on evenings. They will liaise with the Lead 9s-16s Sports Therapist to cover all Schoolboy age groups and work under the guidance of our Academy Senior Physiotherapist.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Emergency pitch-side first aid
  • Diagnosis and treatment of injuries
  • Early injury rehabilitation and management
  • Assisting other medical staff when required
  • Liaising with coaches and family regarding the wellbeing of players

About The Candidate

Required Experience

  • Match and Training Sports Therapist experience
  • Knowledge and/or experience of at least 3 of the following:
  • Experience working with children in an elite football club environment
  • Experience working in a sporting environment
  • Experience in the recognition and management of paediatric musculoskeletal conditions
  • Experience in pitch side sports trauma management
  • ICT experience of PMA, excel, word and any other software as required to carry out the duties required for the job.
  • Qualifications:

    • Registered with the HCPC, CSP, SST, or BASRaT
    • Completed BSc Physiotherapy, BSc Sports Therapy or BSc Sports Rehabilitation
    • First aid qualifications equivalent or higher to ITMMiF or intention to work towards
    • FA Safeguarding in Children
