The Academy are looking to recruit reliable, enthusiastic and highly skilled coaches to be part of the Academy coaching departments across the YDP and FP phase for the 2026/27 season. The successful applicants will be responsible for the delivery of the Academy coaching programme, using their excellent interpersonal skills to motivate and support our players in their holistic development. They will provide opportunities and experiences for our young players, playing a significant role in developing our young people to reach their full potential, in line with the academy vision and philosophy. Commitment and consistency is key to the role so please consider the requirements below before applying:

  • YDP Contacts - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday - 5pm to 7pm. Saturday or Sundays 11am KO.
  • FP Contacts - Tuesday, Friday - 5pm to 7pm. Sundays 11am KO.

The onboarding of the successful candidates will take place in readiness for an August 2026 start date.

About The Candidate:

  • Provide a high standard of coaching to a respective age group, educating them in line with the BRFC Academy philosophy and methodology as outlined in the Academy Performance Plan.
  • Ensure that all Academy players adhere to the BRFC Values and show a high level of respect and discipline whilst always adhering to the Coaches Code of Conduct.
  • Assist players to set individual short and long term goals to create Individual Action Plans for all players.
  • Maintain all coaching and games program records on the Football intelligence platform for each contact throughout the season.
  • Complete player progress reports on FIP every 12 or 6 weeks depending on phase.
  • Attend at least two parents evening sessions per season for each individual player in their squad.
  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with the parents of youngsters in the programme.
  • Complete CPD (Continuous Professional Development) to maintain own coaching qualifications.
  • Work with Head of Coaching in the completion of a personal Coach Development Plan in line with the BRFC Coach Expertise Framework.
  • Identify players available each weekend for matches and communicate any additional player requirements to the Lead Phase Coach at the earliest opportunity.
  • Support the Holistic development of young players in a healthy lifestyle and wider education.
  • Take responsibility for the care and maintenance of all age group training equipment and playing kit.
  • Attend the 6 weekly coaches meetings or additional training nights as instructed by the Academy Manager/Head of Academy Coaching.
  • Assess trialists at both training and games and feedback to the Lead Phase Coach / Head of Academy Recruitment.
  • Assist with sport science input where required at training sessions.
  • Attend tournaments and trips when requested by the club.
  • Abide by all club policies including (but not exclusive to) Safeguarding, Equality and Health & Safety.
