The Academy Coach will lead the development of a designated Academy age group (U9–U16), delivering high-quality coaching in line with the Club’s philosophy and Academy Performance Plan.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning, delivering, and reviewing training sessions and match programmes.
- Managing Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and player review processes.
- Monitoring player progress, attendance, performance data, and succession planning.
- Providing feedback reports and supporting trialist assessments.
- Using video analysis and performance data to inform player development.
- Collaborating with coaching, analysis, sports science, safeguarding, and wider academy staff.
- Supporting logistics, resources, CPD activities, and compliance with PL/EFL Academy standards.
Essential qualifications include:
- UEFA B Licence
- FA Youth Award
- Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF)
- FA Safeguarding Certification
- Experience coaching in academy football and developing young players
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and coaching skills
Desirable qualifications include:
- UEFA A Licence
- Coaching-related degree, QTS, or FA Advanced Youth Award
- Previous experience across U9–U16 age groups
- Professional playing experience
- Full UK driving licence
