The English Football League (EFL) is the largest single body of professional clubs in European football and is responsible for administering and regulating the Sky Bet EFL, Sky Bet Play-Offs, Carabao Cup and Vertu Trophy competitions. In recent seasons, the EFL has significantly developed and diversified its commercial operation. Successful implementation of a new commercial strategy has delivered record revenues across the Broadcast, Digital, Partnerships and Licensing verticals. This includes partnerships with some of the world’s biggest brands.

Our current commercial cycle represents an exciting opportunity for continued activation and growth. There is now an opportunity for a high-performing individual to join the team as a Partnerships Manager and play a key role in delivering partnerships for the EFL.

What We Are Looking For:

The EFL offers a unique opportunity to work with some of the biggest sporting competitions, sponsorship properties and commercial partnerships in the market. We are looking for an individual who has a background in managing and delivering partnership activations in sport.

About the role:

The role will be responsible for leading and developing existing partner relationships for the EFL, including proactively driving partnership agreements through a strong understanding of individual partners' markets and business objectives, maximising the value of association with the EFL and its member clubs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To effectively manage, organise and administer the delivering of some of the EFL’s highest profile partner contracts and other official partners, licensees and/or suppliers as required.
  • Identify key areas where your partners and the EFL share mutual objectives and aims, and work with the wider business to develop these.
  • Actively support the digital, marketing, comms and club relationship departments in fully integrating the partners as required.
  • Manage all contractual rights and work with the partners to deliver their activation goals.
  • Be the main point of contact for the partners and lead on delivering all commercial rights in relation to their contract.
  • Develop key relationships across the partners' business.

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience of sponsorship management and activation within a rights holder, agency or brand environment.
  • Excellent understanding and experience of managing sponsorship contracts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven experience of managing relationships and influencing senior decision makers.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
  • Strong understanding of brand dynamics and consumer trends.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
