A rare front-office advisory mandate has opened up within the in-house tax function of a global bank based in the City. This is a broad, senior-level seat reporting directly into the Head of Tax, blending hands-on advisory with real influence over transfer pricing, special projects and the bank's wider international tax agenda.

Why This One's Different

Most in-house tax seats are compliance-heavy. This one isn't. You'll sit close to the trading and investment banking businesses, advising directly on new products, structures and transactions, genuine front-office exposure rather than a back-office reporting function.

The Remit

  • Advisory, close to the business
  • Reviewing and signing off new products and business initiatives, assessing direct tax risk and compliance requirements
  • Acting as a trusted partner across Compliance, Legal, Operations, HR and Finance to deliver practical, value-adding tax advice
  • Managing a network of external advisors - briefing, challenging and sense-checking their output
  • Legal/tax advisory input on ISDAs, GMSLAs and loan agreements

Projects that matter

  • Partnering with the Head of Tax on one-off transactions, restructurings, M&A and new legislative requirements as they land
  • Keeping the bank ahead of evolving rules - Pillar Two, MDR, anti-fraud provisions and international reporting schedules all currently in play

Transfer pricing

  • Shaping TP policy and documentation from a global markets, commodities and investment banking lens
  • Acting as the go-to contact for Finance, Treasury and Front Office on TP implementation
  • Representing the bank's TP position to auditors and HMRC

Wider tax function

  • Oversight input into corporate income tax and indirect tax risk, reporting and tax authority relationships
  • Support on FATCA/CRS and related client tax reporting obligations

What You'll Bring

  • Front-office advisory experience gained in-house
  • A recognised accounting or tax qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
