Responsibilities

  • Act as investment lead for multiple defined benefit pension funds, managing total fund portfolios within a centralised house view.
  • Translate objectives and responsible investment preferences into mandates, advice and implementation.
  • Oversee asset and liability positioning, performance drivers and portfolio attribution narratives.
  • Lead quarterly investment panels and present at Pension Committees.
  • Create clear portfolio updates and strategic recommendations for varied stakeholder audiences.
  • Manage liquidity, cash flow forecasts and daily portfolio monitoring; coordinate with treasury as needed.
  • Attend internal asset class reviews and bring client insights back to investment teams.
  • Build and maintain relationships with fund officers, committee chairs and senior advisers.
  • Oversee stewardship, ESG integration and sustainability considerations across portfolios.
  • Ensure robust day‑to‑day implementation, including LDI, FX overlays and tail risk hedging where applicable.

Requirements

  • Senior institutional, client‑facing experience at a fiduciary, OCIO, investment consultancy or pension fund.
  • Broad multi‑asset expertise across public and private markets, derivatives, LDI, FX overlays and tail risk hedging.
  • Strong grasp of liability‑aware investing, pension funding dynamics and actuarial principles.
  • Knowledge of defined benefit regulations, governance structures, and the UK pensions landscape.
