What you'll do
Markets Operations offers an exciting career in global finance, with great opportunities for growth.
You'll be at the heart of financial markets, working with teams worldwide to make sure client trades are processed quickly and accurately.
We're also embracing new AI tools to keep improving how we work.
As an entry-level colleague, you'll be assigned to one of the following functions, where you'll learn how your contributions and the team's collective efforts integrate with and impact the other functions and the entire Citi organization:
- Equities Middle Office: Ensures stock trades are processed smoothly after they occur.
- FX Operations: Manages the practical aspects of foreign exchange transactions, making sure currency trades settle accurately.
- Futures & Derivatives Clearing: Guarantees and settles complex financial contracts across markets to reduce risk.
- OTC Derivatives Settlements & Cash Management: Handles payments for privately negotiated derivatives and manages their associated cash flow.
- Securities Settlements: Confirms the accurate buying, selling, and ownership transfer of financial instruments like stocks and bonds.
- Asset Servicing: Manages events related to owned investments (e. g., dividends, corporate actions, bond interest) to ensure clients receive their entitlements.
- Fixed Income & Commodities Operations: Supports the operational side of trading debt instruments (like bonds) and raw materials (like oil or gold).
- Margins Operations & Collateral Optimization: Manages the collateral required for trades to cover potential losses and uses it as efficiently as possible.
- Books & Records Oversight: Ensures all financial transactions are accurately recorded and maintained for compliance and reporting.
- Process Engineering: Designs, analyzes, and improves operational processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Client Facilitation: Acts as the primary contact for clients, resolving queries and smoothing out any operational issues.
