Global Investment Management Firm | London | Hybrid (3 Days Office Based) | Contract with Potential for Permanent

We're partnering with a leading global investment management organisation to hire a Senior AI Engineer who can help shape the adoption of AI across engineering, architecture, and business-critical processes.

This is an opportunity to join a business that manages significant global assets, operates within a highly regulated environment, and is making substantial investment into AI-enabled capabilities.

This isn't a traditional AI or Machine Learning Engineer role.

We're looking for someone who can combine strong engineering fundamentals with practical experience applying AI and LLM technologies to real-world business challenges.

You'll be responsible for identifying where AI can create genuine business value, improving engineering productivity, building internal tooling, and helping define how AI capabilities should be embedded into enterprise architecture.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Designing and developing AI-powered tools and solutions to improve engineering effectiveness.
  • Building workflows, automations and integrations using APIs, Python and modern AI platforms.
  • Exploring and implementing Agentic AI use cases across internal business functions.
  • Advising on how AI and LLM technologies should be integrated into enterprise architecture.
  • Supporting the safe and responsible use of AI within a regulated environment.
  • Working closely with engineering, product and business teams to deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Participating in architecture workshops, whiteboarding sessions and technology strategy discussions.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong software engineering background with experience delivering complex technology solutions.
  • Practical exposure to Generative AI, Agentic AI, LLMs or related AI technologies.
  • Experience building integrations, automation and tooling using Python, Power Shell and APIs.
  • Strong systems design and architecture capabilities.
  • Experience working within Azure cloud environments.
  • AWS Bedrock exposure would be advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Previous experience within Financial Services, Asset Management, Investment Management or another regulated industry would be highly beneficial.

Why Join?

  • Opportunity to influence the AI strategy of a major investment management business.
  • Work on genuinely impactful engineering and AI initiatives rather than proof-of-concept projects.
  • High level of visibility across technology and business functions.
  • Collaborative engineering culture with significant investment in innovation.
  • Contract opportunity with the potential for longer-term or permanent progression.

We believe in equal opportunity for all and actively encourage applications from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
