Our client, an established international investment bank is looking to appoint a Bond & Rates Sales professional to join its London-based team, covering UK institutional clients. This is a revenue-focused role offering strong exposure to primary and secondary bond markets, asset swaps, and interest rate-linked solutions.
The Role
You will play a key role in driving P&L through client coverage, transaction execution, and idea generation across bonds and rates-related products. The role involves close collaboration with trading, syndicate, and marketing teams, as well as active involvement in developing new business and supporting strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive revenue generation across primary and secondary bond trading, including bond taps, private placements, and reverse enquiries.
- Develop and deepen relationships with UK institutional clients, acting as a trusted market advisor.
- Originate new business opportunities and identify cross-product selling opportunities.
- Work closely with Syndicate to support roadshows, investor marketing, and deal execution.
- Provide timely, insightful market updates and trade ideas to clients.
- Support and further develop the asset swap and rates-linked solutions franchise.
- Contribute to digitalisation and workflow optimisation initiatives, improving databases and internal tools.
- Promote a strong team culture, collaboration, and continuous process improvement.
Required Experience & Skills
- Strong background in rates and fixed income, with solid knowledge of bonds and interest rate derivatives.
- Established relationships with UK institutional investors, with a demonstrable track record of revenue generation.
- Proven experience across primary and secondary markets.
- Good understanding of relevant market regulations, guidelines, and sales workflows.
- Commercial mindset with strong client engagement skills.
- Analytical, proactive, and solutions-driven approach.
- Leadership qualities and the ability to operate effectively within a team environment.
Qualifications
- University degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience on the sell-side.
- Experience executing asset swaps alongside bond-related business.
- Background within a major financial institution is preferred.
