We are working with a leading mid-market investment bank to help recruit a junior equity research analyst to support the insurance research team's global financials research product in the UK and Continental Europe.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working closely with the senior insurance analyst and other members of the team to provide support in financial analysis, valuations and modelling.
  • Write and prepare reports and presentations on European Insurance.
  • Help develop, maintain and automate databases and processes, including to support department management function.
  • Analyse newsflow and keeping regular communications with senior analyst and sales/trading.
  • Attend, take notes and provide opinions in various meetings including morning, company and client meetings.

REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES

  • Approximately 2 years’ relevant work experience in the financial industry.
  • Extremely numerate and literate.
  • Highly experienced in Excel (particularly), and Office apps.
  • Experience of the insurance sector particularly welcomed.
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in financial markets.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Able to demonstrate some value-added to the team’s workflow. This might include AI development skills, data processing skills, insurance industry experience, fintech experience, or investment banking/asset management experience.
  • Ability to multi-task, work both independently and part of a wider team.
  • Showing skills and drive that can be developed to assume personal coverage of shares over a reasonable timeline.
