Our client, a global asset management firm is looking to hire a Climate Research Lead to join the sustainable investment function. This individual will work closely with investment teams across asset classes to strengthen how climate considerations are embedded across the investment process. The successful candidate will play a central role in developing insights on the transition to a low-carbon economy and broader environmental topics. They will translate emerging research, policy developments and technological trends into actionable investment insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead research on climate transition themes, including decarbonisation pathways, sector transformation and emerging climate technologies.
- Produce high-quality analysis on environmental risks and opportunities that can inform investment decisions and support idea generation.
- Monitor global policy developments, regulatory changes and market trends related to climate and environmental issues.
- Work closely with investment teams to embed climate and broader environmental considerations into fundamental research and portfolio management.
- Support engagement with companies and other stakeholders on climate strategy, transition plans and environmental performance.
- Contribute to stewardship priorities and engagement objectives related to climate transition and nature-related risks.
- Support development of frameworks for assessing transition risk, emissions exposure and climate scenario outcomes across portfolios.
- Contribute to client discussions on climate investing themes.
- Represent the firm in relevant climate-related initiatives, working groups and industry collaborations.
- Contribute to the firm’s external publications, research notes and perspectives on climate.
Candidate Profile:
5-10 years of experience in investment research, ESG analysis, climate research or a related field on the buy-side, sell-side or consulting.
