We are partnering with a leading global hedge fund to appoint an experienced ABS Trader to join its London investment team. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned structured credit professional with a strong track record in ABS trading and risk-taking, looking to operate within a nimble, performance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively trade a range of ABS products (including RMBS, CMBS, consumer, auto, and esoteric ABS as applicable) across primary and secondary markets.
- Generate relative-value and directional trade ideas in collaboration with portfolio managers and analysts.
- Manage risk dynamically, with full ownership of P&L within defined mandates.
- Source liquidity, maintain strong dealer relationships, and contribute to market colour and intelligence.
- Support portfolio construction through pricing, structuring insights, and capital allocation considerations.
- Contribute to ongoing development of trading strategies, analytics, and execution processes.
Candidate Profile
- 6-12 years' experience trading ABS within a hedge fund, asset manager or bank.
- Demonstrated, consistent P&L generation and strong understanding of structured credit markets.
- Deep product knowledge across key ABS subsectors, with strong technical and cash-flow modelling intuition.
- Proven ability to operate with autonomy and accountability in a fast-paced, performance-oriented setting.
- Strong market instincts, risk discipline, and execution capability.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
