Falcon Money Managementis an award-winning, institutional Fund of Funds managing approx. $1.2bn of third-party, institutional assets. The firm was founded in 2009 by Michael Perotti, previously the Chief Investment Officer of a Swiss bank Union Bancaire Privée in London and is associated with Beazley plc, one of the main Lloyds of London insurers.The company is well positioned for growth on the back of a differentiated investment strategy and an excellent 16-year long track record.
We are currently looking for a bright and motivated individual to join ourLondon-based fund selection team as aJunior Research Analyst. This position will be ideal for a recent graduate or a junior professional looking to begin or further their career in the alternative investment industry, and hedge funds specifically. The analyst will support the team tasked with sourcing and conducting investment due diligence on hedge fund managers as well as monitoring the performance of Falcon’s current investments.
Initial responsibilities:
- Support Senior Analysts in a broad range of investment sourcing, due diligence and monitoring tasks
- Participate in regular meetings / calls with hedge fund managers, prepare meeting notes
- Review fund materials, analyse performance, contribute to investment reports
- Maintain and update internal fund monitoring databases
- Develop an in-depth understanding of a wide range of hedge fund investment strategies across different financial markets
- Undertake other investment-related tasks as required
A successful candidate will be highly motivated, diligent and hard-working, with an intellectual capacity to quickly grasp advanced financial concepts and understand complex investment strategies. The candidate will show interest in following global financial and economic developments and in expanding their knowledge through additional study.
Key requirements:
- Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Finance, Economics or Business from a well-regarded university (min. degree 2:1 or equivalent)
- Up to 1-2 yrs of experience in the hedge fund / asset management industry would be an advantage, as would a degree of understanding of financial derivatives and/or hedge fund strategies
- Excellent written and verbal English skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel
- Eligibility to work in the UK
