EFI is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our Nozomi Business Unit in the UK (Yorkshire area) with a focus on our packaging printing solutions. What you will do:
- Provide on-site and telephone support, training, and repair service for Inkjet customers.
- Provide on-site setup and installation of all EFI industrial inkjet Nozomi printers.
- Un-crate the controller, print heads, remote cabinets, and all UV components, checking electrical power and compressed air while working with a Certified Electrician.
- Provide initial and ongoing formal customer operator and printer maintenance training.
- Provide periodic on-site troubleshooting and repairs on printers experiencing complex electrical, mechanical, or pneumatic problems.
- Provide detailed technical feedback via the EFI Inkjet Case Management System (CMS) during and after each customer visit.
- Work remotely with customers to accurately identify equipment issues and provide technical information and repair guidance.
- Participate in after-hours support activities on a rotating basis.

- Have a minimum 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience in mechanical, digital, and electronic technology.
- Have a minimum of 2 years in field engineering positions servicing complex electro-mechanical devices.
- Possess customer management skills and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Can demonstrate the ability to independently manage a large service territory.
- Can troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems to the component level.
- Have the ability to provide telephone technical support and effectively communicate with Product Service Engineers.
- Possess a working knowledge of RIPS, color theory, Microsoft Windows, and Linux operating systems.
- Have a working knowledge of materials and chemicals used in the printing industry.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of personal computers, industrial inkjet printers, and printing applications.
- Knowledge of high and low voltage wiring and capability of identifying single-phase as well as three-phase power requirements.
- Ability to demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude including using critical alignment tools holding tolerances of .001”.
