Responsibilities
- Be the main point of contact for Health & Safety within the organisation and provide day-to-day oversight of the external health and safety partner, working with them to ensure an appropriate and tailored service is provided across our care home group in the areas of risk assessments and safety.
- Coordinate and carry out a range of business process audits with relevant department leads across the organisation, including financial accountability, management of people, compliance with food safety standards, and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Work with colleagues to manage a variety of third-party contracts to ensure their smooth and efficient operation.
- Support the Finance Director in the management, updating and reporting on a range of risk management approaches that apply to the organisation.
- Oversee a range of complaints and compliments that are received, coordinate or complete investigations and propose resolutions as appropriate with relevant department leads.
- Propose ways to improve efficiency and safety through recommendations to the SMT and Directors.
- Lead on the development and implementation of business continuity plans across the group.
- Support the preparation of papers and reports to support day-to-day business management as well as for board committees and meetings particularly that relate to health, safety, business processes and business audit compliance.
- Partner with L&D colleagues to ensure that we deliver a range of learning solutions to increase knowledge and confidence across the organisation in health & Safety and risk management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience carrying out audits and producing clear follow-up reports.
- Experience working with a range of stakeholders to improve services.
- Knowledge of governance, risk, and health & Safety compliance.
- Ability to communicate clearly and write concise reports with actions.
- Successful applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check (including barred list check) and a satisfactory outcome is required for employment.
