About the role
We are seeking a compassionate Housekeeping Assistant to assist in the daily cleaning of the Home, ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment and providing a prompt and courteous service to residents. Working alongside catering and care teams, you’ll help create a safe, engaging and comfortable environment where residents can thrive.
What you'll do
- Carry out high‑quality cleaning across all areas, including bedrooms, communal spaces, bathrooms, offices, corridors, windows and fixtures.
- Follow agreed cleaning procedures and hygiene standards to prevent cross‑infection and maintain a safe environment.
- Use cleaning equipment safely and correctly, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
- Take responsibility for Health & Safety and COSHH compliance, reporting hazards, accidents or concerns without delay.
- Work effectively to schedules and time limits, supporting colleagues, attending training/meetings, and reporting any resident concerns to care or nursing staff.
Qualifications & Skills
- Good general education.
- Basic Food Awareness Certificate or NVQ level 2 is desirable (or willingness to work towards it).
- In good general health to meet the requirements of the role.
- Empathy with older people.
