An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Private Banking Support (βPBSβ) Team at EFG in Mayfair, London.
The PBS Team plays a key role in ensuring operational effectiveness, AML compliance and consistency in Client Lifecycle Management processes across private banking activities in the UK.
The Private Banking Support Manager is a senior specialist role within the Private Banking Support (PBS) Team, responsible for delivering high-quality Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) and AML/KYC support to the UK private banking business. The role operates as a subject matter expert on CLM and AML processes, working largely independently on complex client cases.
The vacancy represents a great opportunity for a driven and highly organised individual with strong analytical and critical thinking skills to join a team that is an important partner to the Private Bank function.
Duties / Responsibilities
The Private Banking Support Manager will;
Review and assess client profiles across Account Opening, CIP Modification, and Relationship Review processes, ensuring strict adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Act as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex or high-risk CLM cases, providing authoritative guidance to Client Relationship Officers and other front-office staff to support robust risk management throughout the client lifecycle.
Identify and implement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, streamline CLM workflows, and reduce risk within the PBS remit, using advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
Deliver training and guidance to front office on CLM, AML/KYC, and related processes, promoting best practices and consistent application of procedures.
Contribute to the enhancement of team quality and consistency by sharing expertise, supporting a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning within PBS.
Manage and deliver ad hoc projects and assignments delegated by the Head of PBS, independently leading smaller or less complex projects or sub-workstreams within larger initiatives.
- Take responsibility for various ad hoc tasks and projects assigned by the Head of PBS, ensuring timely and effective completion.
Required knowledge, skills and experience:
In-depth understanding of AML/KYC regulations, cross-border risks, and comprehensive regulatory compliance frameworks, with the ability to interpret and apply evolving requirements in a private banking context.
Strong risk management orientation, demonstrating the ability to balance commercial objectives with the effective execution of controls and mitigation of operational and reputational risks.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage, influence, and challenge stakeholders at all levels and across multiple business functions.
Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously, effectively managing competing priorities and making well-judged decisions in high-pressure situations.
Highly organised and self-driven, with a proven track record of managing multiple complex tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision.
Outstanding interpersonal and collaboration skills, fostering productive relationships and teamwork across cross-functional and international teams.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a logical, solutions-oriented mindset and a focus on root cause analysis and continuous process improvement.
Experience thriving in fast-paced, high-stakes environments, preferably within the financial services sector.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook, with strong data analysis skills and a demonstrated ability to drive process enhancements through technology.
Required qualifications:
University degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Finance, Business, Economics, Law) or equivalent professional experience.
An AML qualification (eg. ICA, ACAMS) or equivalent is desirable.
Typically 7+ years of experience in private banking or a similar financial services environment, with significant exposure to AML/KYC, CLM, or related risk and control functions.
