Join our Environment Team and Build a Career with Purpose. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Supervisor to join Galliford Try’s Environment Business, working on our Scottish Water Frameworks in our Joint Venture, ESD. This role is dedicated to our Glenfarg Water Treatment project and focuses on Temporary Works and Lifting Operations on site for this multi-million pound Scottish Water project.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Supervise all temporary works activities onsite, maintaining a comprehensive temporary works register.
- Supervise all lift operations to ensure safety and proper technique.
- Develop site-appropriate design briefs in consultation with the project team, referencing nearby temporary works, and issue them to the Temporary Works Designer (TWD).
- Confirm that design checks are done by individuals not involved in the original design process.
- Register and archive all design documents, including drawings and calculations, and obtain necessary approvals.
- Implement inspection/test plans and checklists, ensuring material/construction changes are vetted against the original design.
- Conduct checks throughout the process, manage discrepancies, and issue permits to load, proceed, or unload as appropriate.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers for timely delivery and removal of equipment and materials.
- Verify structural stability before dismantling, ensure safe systems are in place, and transfer relevant information to the health and safety file.

About You:
- A qualification such as an HND or equivalent in construction, civil engineering, or project management.
- Site supervisory experience in temporary works and lift operations in construction/engineering, preferably within the water industry.
- A track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
- Safety qualifications: IOSH or SMSTS certification.
- A valid CSCS card.
- Strong IT proficiency and the ability to use digital tools for reporting and planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
