Professional Security is recruiting SIA-licensed Retail Security Officers to support Whole Foods Market stores across Central London. Our officers play an important role in protecting its London stores while ensuring every customer receives the safe, welcoming and professional experience expected from the brand.

This is a high-profile, customer-facing retail security and loss-prevention position suited to officers who combine strong security awareness with excellent presentation, communication and customer service.

The role

This is a customer-facing retail security and loss-prevention position. You will work closely with store management and team members to help protect customers, colleagues, products and premises. You will provide a visible and reassuring presence while using proactive patrols, observation and strong customer service skills to deter theft, reduce loss and respond professionally to incidents.

Key responsibilities

  • Providing a friendly and professional welcome to customers
  • Maintaining a smart, approachable and visible presence
  • Helping create a safe and welcoming environment for customers and store colleagues
  • Conducting proactive patrols throughout the store
  • Using observation and effective patrol patterns to deter and identify potential theft
  • Working with store management to reduce shrinkage and external theft
  • Identifying and responding appropriately to suspicious behaviour
  • Using conflict-management and customer-care skills to de-escalate challenging situations
  • Responding to incidents calmly, proportionately and in line with agreed procedures
  • Maintaining accurate records of incidents, observations and actions taken
  • Reporting security concerns and potential risks to the appropriate manager
  • Following store policies, Professional Security procedures and SIA standards
  • Supporting the wider store team when required

About you

To be considered, you must:

  • Hold a valid SIA licence
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Be available to work weekends
  • Be able to work varied shifts across Central London
  • Have experience in retail, hospitality or another customer-facing environment
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be confident, observant and approachable
  • Remain calm and professional when handling difficult situations
  • Take pride in your appearance and standards of service
  • Work effectively both independently and alongside store teams

Preferred experience

The following would be advantageous:

  • At least one year of security experience
  • Previous retail security or loss-prevention experience
  • Knowledge of retail crime, theft prevention and shrink reduction
  • A strong customer-service background
