Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well - established and growing building services company, covering the London area.
This is a hands‑on position carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical building services and M&E systems. You'll be responsible for fault finding, servicing and maintaining mechanical plant while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
The Role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
- Servicing and maintaining mechanical plant and building services equipment
- Fault finding and diagnosing mechanical issues
- Servicing pumps and pressurisation units
- Carrying out routine service inspections in accordance with PPM schedules
- Responding to breakdowns and call-outs
- Identifying faults and completing necessary remedial works
- Producing reports and relevant certification
- Completing and maintaining site logbooks
- Ensuring work complies with Health & Safety requirements and risk assessments
- Liaising with customers and tenants while on site
- Supporting small works and projects where required
- Minimising repeat visits through effective fault diagnosis and repair
What We're Looking For
You should have previous experience working within mechanical building services, facilities management or an M&E maintenance environment.
Ideally, you will have:
- Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications
- Experience maintaining mechanical M&E systems
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance
- Experience servicing pumps and pressurisation units
- Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Flexibility to undertake occasional out-of-hours and weekend work
