We are recruiting for an experienced Construction Project Manager to join a well-established and growing construction consultancy in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with previous construction consultancy or client-side experience to take responsibility for delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across the retail, commercial, residential and leisure sectors.

Working alongside an experienced Project Director and a growing Project Management team, you will manage projects throughout their lifecycle, taking responsibility for planning, procurement, design coordination, contract administration and successful project delivery. The position offers exposure to a varied client base and a broad range of projects, with excellent opportunities for continued professional development and career progression.

The Role

  • Managing the day-to-day delivery of construction projects on behalf of clients.
  • Taking ownership of project planning, procurement and coordination.
  • Coordinating design teams, consultants and other project stakeholders.
  • Managing projects throughout the pre-construction and delivery phases.
  • Administering construction contracts and maintaining relevant project documentation.
  • Leading project meetings and coordinating activities on site.
  • Monitoring project programmes, costs and overall performance.
  • Identifying potential programme deviations and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Monitoring project risks, opportunities and commercial considerations.
  • Proactively addressing issues and mitigating potential project delays.
  • Preparing regular project reports, progress updates and documentation.
  • Maintaining clear and professional communication with clients, consultants and delivery partners.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered to the required quality, programme and client expectations.
  • Supporting the wider Project Management team and contributing to the continued development of the business.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous Project Management experience within the construction industry.
  • Experience working within a construction/property consultancy or client-side environment.
  • A good understanding of the complete construction project lifecycle.
  • Experience across pre-construction, procurement, design coordination and project delivery.
  • Experience administering construction contracts.
  • Strong project planning and programme management capabilities.
  • The ability to manage multiple consultants, contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of project risk.
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with clients and delivery partners.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Good IT skills and experience using digital systems for project reporting, tracking and documentation.
  • Experience within the retail, commercial, residential or leisure sectors would be advantageous.
  • A degree in Construction Management or a related discipline would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Chartered status, or working towards chartership, would be advantageous.

Salary 50k-60k basic plus generous benefits
