The Opportunity

We’re looking for a motivated Trainee / Graduate Solar PV Designer to join our fast-growing business at the forefront of energy efficiency and renewable technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their career who is passionate about sustainability and eager to develop technical expertise in solar PV design. You’ll receive hands‑on training and support as you learn to review site surveys, assist in designing high‑quality solar PV systems, and contribute to a smooth customer journey from initial design through to installation. Working closely with our experienced compliance and operations teams, you’ll play a key role in delivering efficient and compliant solar solutions while building your technical knowledge.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the review of site surveys and assisting with system designs using Easy PV and CAD software.
  • Learning how to conduct virtual surveys with customers, gathering key information, photos, and identifying potential installation considerations.
  • Assisting with basic structural assessments under guidance to ensure system suitability.
  • Supporting the creation of wiring diagrams for solar PV and battery storage systems.
  • Communicating with customers in a professional and friendly manner, helping to deliver a positive experience.
  • Maintaining accurate records and learning to ensure designs meet compliance standards (OFGEM, BEIS, MCS).
  • Continuously developing your knowledge of solar PV systems, industry regulations, and best practices through training and on‑the‑job learning.

What We’re Looking For

  • Exposure to CAD or design software.
  • A relevant degree, qualification, or demonstrable interest in engineering, energy, or a related field.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and familiarity with Windows-based systems.
