The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-driven Solar PV Designer to join a fast-growing business at the forefront of energy efficiency and renewables. You’ll be responsible for reviewing site surveys and designing high-quality solar PV systems, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and a seamless customer journey from design through to installation. Working closely with our compliance and operations teams, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering technically sound and efficient solar solutions that meet industry standards and exceed customer expectations.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Reviewing site surveys with a keen eye for detail and producing accurate system designs using Easy PV and CAD software
- Conducting virtual surveys with customers, gathering key information, photos, and identifying potential installation challenges
- Carrying out structural assessments to ensure system suitability
- Producing wiring diagrams for solar PV systems and battery storage solutions
- Communicating with customers at various stages, providing a professional and informative experience throughout
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all designs align with compliance standards (OFGEM, BEIS, MCS)
- Continuously developing your knowledge of industry regulations and best practice
What We’re Looking For
- Proven technical understanding of solar PV systems or similar technologies
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Windows-based systems
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
- Clear and confident communication skills, both internally and with customers
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality
- A genuine interest in renewable energy and sustainability
Desirable Experience
- Experience using solar design software (e.g. Easy PV) or CAD
- Previous experience in a similar PV design role
- Electrical design background
- Relevant training or qualifications in renewable energy
