Senior Health & Safety Manager (Construction, NIHE Direct, Projects & Contracts)

Location: 2 Adelaide Street, Belfast
Salary: £53,460 – £63,580 annum. We also have an excellent defined benefit pension scheme.
To provide strategic leadership, to the Health & Safety Teams for Construction, NIHE Direct, Projects and Contracts, within Health & Safety Services across all areas of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE).

Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Possess a NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent level qualification (Level 6*) in Health & Safety
It will be the responsibility of the applicant to demonstrate equivalency

- a diverse property portfolio, in particular the construction health & safety, including demolition projects and managing specialist health & safety services such as Occupational Exposure Monitoring, Managing arrangements for Respiratory Protection or a COSHH Management System.
- C) Experience of providing presentations and developing written reports to provide assurance to senior management teams on key health & safety matters.
- D) Developing, monitoring and implementing organisational policies and procedures relating the management of health and safety and managing health & safety inspections and associated actions, in a variety of working environments.
- E) Working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement solutions and systems, relevant to this role.
- 5. Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that will permit the candidate to meet the requirements of the post in full.
- Hold current Certified Membership of the IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) and can demonstrate ability to achieve this within 12 months of commencement in the role***2. Have at least three years’ experience managing health and safety at a senior level in a large multi-disciplinary organisation** (Please include dates)**NIHE has in excess of 3,500 staff, with around 45 sites, and manages a revenue budget of circa £1.3bn.

- Hold current Chartered Membership of the IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health), CMIOSH
- *** Candidates must include detail as to what stages they have currently completed and a plan as to how / when they will achieve Chartered membership
- Can demonstrate significant relevant experience in each of the following areas (please provide specific examples):
- A) Leading and/or managing other staff to ensure organisational compliance with Health & Safety legislation including the delivery of agreed work plans, in accordance with agreed timescales
- B) Providing advice and direction on the application of health & safety statutory requirements in a large multi-site organisation with
Desirable Criteria
- 1. Can demonstrate experience in the completion of an organisational training needs analysis and associated co-ordination of safety related training programmes.
