Join to apply for the role at European Foundation for Business Qualification (EFBQ). The PET's primary function is to provide reactive and proactive lineside support to the Plant and to enable Wings to be delivered to the FALs. We also identify, investigate, provide technical solutions, and deliver flow mods, significant mods, and major mods for production easements. These include structural & systems modifications for rate, cost improvements, and production & quality easements in the Plant, the FALs, and the supply chain.

Within the Wing Plant Engineering Team (PET), we are looking to appoint a Design Authoriser who will support the Wing Component Delivery Team (CDT). The successful applicant will be part of a fast-moving team that delivers high-quality Design Support to meet the needs of the Plant. The team's function is to provide engineering solutions to all areas of Broughton Plant Manufacturing to ensure the achievement of their business objectives and product integrity, working with Manufacturing Engineering colleagues to promote a true MEET (Manufacturing Engineering and Engineering Together) ethos.

  • Tangible Deliverables to Time, Cost, and Quality

The job holder is responsible for leading design investigations and formulating technical solutions for various tasks, including Modifications to the Type Design, Design / Works Query Notes 'Flow Modifications,' and other tasks, ensuring all Design, Airworthiness, and safety requirements are met, liaising with other functions for a fully integrated design solution. Operate as a lead design engineer with an industry-recognized design authorisation signatory and act as a focal point in leading and providing guidance on technical issues and governance. Lead the structural design process to help ensure an optimised design. Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through methods, process, and capability improvements, maintaining a robust lesson learnt and feedback process. Report on critical technical issues and provide technical mentoring for team members.

Main Activities

  • Lead, guide, approve, and/or authorise design solutions for tasks including Major/Minor Design Modifications and Design Query Notes.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, assisting in skill development and gap closure.
  • Ensure design standards and requirements are met, liaising with other functions for integrated solutions.
  • Operate as a design authorisation signatory.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders such as CVE, Chief Engineer, Configuration Management, and Local Programmes Team to enable satisfactory design solutions and aircraft implementation supporting airworthiness and configuration management.
