We are recruiting for Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to join our expanding team based at our site in Howden. The candidate will work a combination of mornings and afternoons on a rotating shift pattern. The salary for this position ranges between £40,500 - £43,500 + Shift Allowance depending on the experience.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To carry out planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Fault finding, PLC troubleshooting and maintaining, repairing conveyor systems, equipment and plant using all engineering disciplines to ensure minimum lost production time.
  • To follow up any faults picked up on PPMs.
  • Take ownership for working area; monitor key maintenance KPIs such as breakdowns and have a strong service-department mindset towards the operations.
  • Keep and maintain all company issued tools in a safe and serviceable manner.
  • To proactively work towards the continued success and support of the business with a can-do attitude.
  • In addition to any other duties, as a responsible person you must ensure that you have read, understood and adhere to policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety, and your responsibilities located in the Integrated Management System (IMS) Responsibilities document.

Desired Skills and Knowledge:

  • Minimum Level 3 Qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering (Required).
  • 18th Edition with valid IEE regulations (Desirable).
  • Welding/Fabricating experience (Desirable).
  • Understanding of PLC systems (Desirable).
  • An ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent technical skills and knowledge.
  • Problem solving and team working skills.
  • To think on your own initiative.
