We are currently recruiting experienced Mechanical Engineers to join the engineering team at our large‑scale manufacturing facility in Howden. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume production environment, supporting critical plant and equipment and contributing to continuous improvement across the site. The role operates on a rotating shift pattern covering mornings and afternoons. Key Responsibilities * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a wide range of manufacturing machinery and equipment. * Respond quickly and professionally to equipment breakdowns, minimising downtime and disruption to production. * Undertake mechanical fault finding and repairs on automated and semi‑automated equipment, working collaboratively with Electrical Engineers where required. * Support fault diagnosis involving PLC‑controlled machinery from a mechanical perspective. * Conduct root cause analysis on recurring issues and implement robust, long‑term solutions. * Identify and deliver improvements to machinery performance, reliability, safety, and processes. * Accurately record all maintenance activity, breakdowns, and repairs using the CMMS (Shire system). * Maintain a positive, proactive approach that supports operational targets and the wider business. * Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety policies and procedures in line with the Integrated Management System (IMS). Shift Pattern (Rotating Weekly) * Week 1: 6:00am – 2:30pm | Monday to Friday * Week 2: 10:00am – 6:30pm | Monday to Friday About You Essential * Minimum Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. * Proven experience in a mechanical maintenance role within an industrial or manufacturing environment. * Strong mechanical fault‑finding and repair capability. * Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure in a production‑critical environment. * Good verbal and written communication skills. * Proactive mindset with a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement. Desirable * Experience within FMCG, woodworking, or other high‑volume manufacturing environments
