This role will provide legal and commercial support across the full lifecycle of major engineering, fabrication, construction and industrial projects throughout the UK. [Legal Coun... ember 2026 | Word]
Working closely with project, procurement, commercial and senior leadership teams, you will be responsible for reviewing, negotiating and managing a broad range of contracts whilst helping to minimise risk and ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft and negotiate supplier, subcontractor and client contracts.
- Support tender and bid teams with contractual risk assessments and commercial input.
- Manage contracts throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Oversee contract performance against agreed milestones, KPIs and commercial objectives.
- Administer contract variations, change controls, claims and extensions of time.
- Maintain accurate contract records, approvals and audit trails.
- Identify contractual risks and provide practical mitigation strategies.
- Conduct reviews of commercial and contractual interfaces across projects.
- Advise on dispute resolution matters involving customers, suppliers and contractors.
- Liaise with external legal advisers where required.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of contracting processes.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the business.
- Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and project teams.
- Represent EFAB at meetings with clients, suppliers and industry partners.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and industry regulations.
About You
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
- Previous experience negotiating and managing commercial contracts.
- Strong understanding of commercial and contract law.
- Experience managing contractual risks, claims and performance obligations.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to communicate complex legal matters in a clear and practical way.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including procurement, finance, business development and project delivery.
- Knowledge of engineering, construction, NEC or IChem E contracts would be advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and business systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
