We are currently looking to appoint a Stores & Equipment Coordinator to support the effective management, control and preparation of tools, equipment and materials issued to our engineering teams. This is a varied, hands-on role combining traditional stores control with equipment preparation, basic maintenance and on-site equipment management. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring engineers are correctly equipped, assets are accurately tracked and all equipment is fit for purpose when required.
Key Responsibilities- Stores & Inventory Management
- Manage the issuing and return of tools, equipment, materials and supplies to engineering personnel
- Ensure all items are accurately signed in and out using agreed tracking systems
- Maintain up-to-date records of stock levels, asset locations and equipment condition
- Identify missing, damaged or overdue equipment and escalate as required
- Equipment Preparation & Maintenance
- Prepare tools and equipment for engineers ahead of the next working day
- Clean, inspect and carry out basic servicing or maintenance on smaller items of engineering equipment (full training provided)
- Ensure all equipment issued is safe, compliant and fit for purpose
- Flag equipment requiring repair, calibration or replacement
- Project & Site Equipment Control
- Support equipment management on larger projects, ensuring equipment is fully accounted for and returned on completion
- Carry out periodic equipment audits, including visits to customer sites (potentially monthly)
- Where required, attend site to support the signing in and out of equipment
- General Duties
- Maintain an organised, safe and efficient stores/workshop environment
- Support continuous improvement of stores and equipment control processes
- Work closely with engineers, supervisors and management to resolve equipment-related issues
- Essential
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, equipment control or logistics-based role
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident managing records and asset tracking
- Practical, hands-on approach with a willingness to learn basic equipment maintenance
- Good communication skills and a proactive mindset
- Full UK driving licence (for occasional site visits)
- Desirable
- Experience working in an engineering, construction, manufacturing or industrial environment
- Familiarity with tools, plant or engineering equipment
- Experience carrying out stock or asset audits
- A stable, Monday–Friday role with early finish
- Full training on equipment maintenance and internal systems
