Join to apply for the University Preparation Teacher role at EF at the Manchester International Language Campus. This part‑time position starts 23 February and will involve teaching at AS/A‑Level (KS3/KS4) for our University Foundation Programme. We are looking for teachers to cover one or more specialist modules (each 6 h 40 min of class time per week):

  • International Relations and Law
  • Communication and Media
  • Research Methods (Quantitative and Qualitative)
  • Accounting and Finance
  • Marketing and Communication

If you are passionate about teaching in an international environment and enjoy helping students achieve their language goals, we would love to hear from you. EF Manchester and EF University Preparation have a vibrant and friendly working environment. You will use our blended learning system to teach EFL and syllabus‑specific content for the UP. The position is paid hourly; teaching 6 h 40 min a week, potentially spread across 2 days, based on availability. Specialist modules run at different school terms, followed by an exam week with paid marking. You may also take extra classes from other departments if you have a CELTA. Lessons will be delivered in person at our Manchester Campus on 26 Wilbraham Rd, Fallowfield.

Your Role

  • Plan and prepare lessons using EF’s curriculum and blended learning approach
  • Track student attendance, assess progress, and provide regular feedback
  • Facilitate testing and maintain academic records
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative academic team environment
  • Support students in achieving their learning goals through tutorials and guidance

The ideal UP teacher

  • Hold a BA in the relevant subject (MA desirable)
  • Experience is a bonus, but not essential
  • Teaching or tutoring experience in any setting
  • CELTA qualification, but not essential
  • Passionate, professional, dynamic, energetic, enthusiastic and flexible
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and positive, with a keen sense of initiative, who can take responsibility when necessary
  • Keen interest in up‑to‑date teaching methodology and developments, with a strong desire to develop teaching skills and knowledge
  • Able to encourage a positive and sharing attitude to both classroom and professional issues
  • Sensitive to students’ academic & welfare needs
