EF (Education First) Brighton International Language Campus is looking for a responsible and culturally intelligent Residence Advisor Lead to join our team in October 2026.
In this role, you’ll help create a welcoming and secure environment where international students feel at home, supported and part of a vibrant community throughout their studies.

Your Role
You’ll support the Residence Manager in running a smooth, efficient department whilst ensuring top-notch customer service for our students.
As a live-in role, your focus will be on creating a welcoming and lively home from home environment, maintaining EF's high standards, ensuring health and safety protocols are followed.
You’ll also assist with administrative tasks, help with student inquiries, and liaise with local suppliers, all while promoting the best image of our school within the community.
This is a fixed-term, full-time position running from October 2026 – October 2027.
The position involves working on shifts with varying hours over a 5-day week, including evenings and weekends.
As a live-in role, free accommodation is provided.
Responsibilities
- Live in EF residential accommodation and oversee comfort, safety, and conduct of students on and out of school hours ensuring residence advisor duties such as room checks, curfew, and activities in the residence are in place
- To support the Residence Manager and team in ensuring Weekends are well planned and run smoothly
- To organize work processes and delegate duties between Residence Advisors
- To assist with administration tasks by having accurate lists with important information to support the team and suppliers
- To ensure standards of rooms and quality of service are maintained by conducting weekly building checks, checking, and updating posters and signs when appropriate
- To ensure the highest level of customer service and satisfaction is delivered to students
- To support students in their daily life and enable them to achieve the best experience and highest learning possible
- To advocate for a fun and lively environment within the residence by organizing Weekend residence tours, welcoming arriving students and assisting departing students, and promoting residence activities
- To assist with student bookings, shared and campus cases, and FAM Trip visits
- To assist students with general enquiries and take appropriate action in the event of student misconduct, addressing concerns with relevant school staff
- To ensure Safeguarding procedures are in place and concerns are shared with relevant school staff
- To follow EF procedures and take responsibility for fire safety in the event of alarms by receiving training in operating fire alarm system, familiarising self with evacuation procedures, and always acting appropriately in the event of a fire or alarm
- To ensure communication between day and night staff is effective and followed up and to support security team when required
- School emergency phone duty on rota basis
- To assist emergency phones when required ensuring teamwork and attend regular staff meetings and adhere to the Residence Advisor Code of Conduct
- Report issues or concerns promptly to the Residence Manager
- To support Facilities Team with repairs and maintenance issues when required
- Assist in planning and delivery of facilities training to the residential advisor team
- To t ake the lead on maintenance issues whilst working on out of hours shifts
- Providing great customer service and ensuring department goals are met
